About Marie Stone
My work is fueled by a love of classic storybook illustrations, music, film, nature, and the creative process. I am drawn to the often-unsung splendors of our planet and enjoy inviting wonder, storytelling, imagination and delight. I work primarily in pen and ink, watercolor and graphite, and enjoy pushing scale, color and textures to playfully link animals and insects with our human experience. Additionally, I am a contributing artist for Art-o-mat installations, which are retired cigarette vending machines, artfully restored and converted to vend small works of art. They are located in museums, galleries and venues throughout the United States and beyond. My studio is based in North Carolina, USA

Beautiful work - congrats on your sale. I have fostered (for our local humane society) and kept two of my fosters... both the best of kitties!

Marie Stone replied:
but we don't want to have a kitten snack LOL...thanks so much. She's a doll and I couldn't resist envisioning her as a plump little muffin :)

I love this! So adorable.
Marie Stone replied:
Thank you! She's a sweet kitty. A senior now living in a permanent home because of kidney issues. Always a bright spot whenever I would go to the adoption center to take care of the cats.
